Filling a gap in the market

The UK is clamping down on mobile phones marketed as imitations of key fobs for luxury brands which are ergonomically shaped for smuggling into prisons (use your imagination). All puns aside it does make you consider that with all the freedom of the internet are we creating a platform for criminal commerce. A quick search of the usual internet market places reveals illegal laser pointers capable of burning and blinding, knives hidden to look like car key fobs and lock-picking entry tools available to anyone willing to pay.

The manufactures did not inspire this form of smuggling but it brings to light the question, “Is the internet making it easier form criminals to acquire the tools of the trade?”
